A mild surfactant with excellent cleaning ability due to its rich and dense foam which does not dry the skin. It is sulfate-free.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A clear, semi viscous liquid with a slight odour that disappears when made up into the finished product.
It’s a blend of anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants derived from palm, coconut and corn.

It produces a rich, dense foam that is effective at cleansing but has an exceptionally mild profile making it ideal for use in sensitive skin shampoos, baby products, facial cleansers, shaving creams and gentle body washes.
It is non-ethoxylated and sulfate-free.
The optimum finished pH is 5 as long as this is also effective for the preservative chosen. This is also the pH where the product thickens best.

The individual materials that make up Natural Surfactant Base are listed on the Cosmetic Ingredient Database (Cosing) here.

HOW TO USE IT

Use 20% to 50% in body washes and shampoos for adults.
Use 20% to 30% in baby baths and baby shampoos.
It is water-soluble so cannot be used in oil-only formulations. As it already contains glycerin, there is no need to add any more in your formulations.

It can be added in Stage 1 when making an emulsified cleanser.
Skin Care
Use in cleansers, bubble baths, facial washes and hand washes. Excellent for all sensitive skin types.

Hair Care
Excellent for every-day shampoos to cleanse without stripping the scalp. Gentle for sensitive and irritated scalps.

TRADITIONAL USE

The term “surfactant” comes from an abbreviation of surface active agent. It lowers the surface tension between two liquids and in this way, acts as a detergent.
