A classic, mild, semi-fatty oil for skin care, which has been used since antiquity. It spreads well and makes the skin soft, smooth and supple. It can be used for most skin types. This is the classic oil for use in massage.
It can also be used in face and body oils, skin creams, lotions, ointments and balms. Use in products for itchy skin. It softens the skin and wound crusts and is excellent for baby products. Can be used in hot and cold stages of cream making. Keeps for 2 - 2.5 years.
Prunus amygdalus dulcis Oil
It has a long ‘surface time’ which means that it is slowly absorbed by the skin and is therefore an excellent lubricant for whole body massage oil.
Combines very well with other ‘Prunus’ oils such as Apricot Kernel and Peach Kernel oils as well as Macadamia Nut, Castor and Jojoba oils.
Use in itchy skin products, blend with Chickweed, Marshmallow, Comfrey and St. John’s Wort oils.
Use in baby oils, with Apricot Kernel, Rosehip, Rice Bran and Shea Butter oils. You can also add soothing Oat and Chamomile CO2 Extracts.

We have given percentages here as this is the easiest way to work. When making smaller amounts, we assume that 10% is a similar amount to 10ml of oil or 10g of butter or powders. However, when making larger amounts, they are not the same. Decide whether you want to use measuring cylinders or scales or both in your recipes. Weighing all materials gives the best accuracy.
