What is it?

90% Sunflower Oil (Organic) plus Essential Oils/Absolutes of: Rosewood (Organic); Rose Geranium (Organic); Rosemary Verbenone (Organic); Rose Otto [non-organic]; Lavender Fine Population, French (Organic); Spikenard (Organic); Patchouli (Organic); Frankincense (Organic).

Our Mature Skin Blend is part of a range of four blends for different skin types formulated by our very own Mike Harmon who, as many of you will know, is a clinical aromatherapist who is also very skilled at formulating and making natural skin and hair care products in the Aromantic style.

Benefits

It is ideal for enhancing tailor-made/prescription products that you make up for your therapy clients or for a skin care range catering for different skin types. You can add it to any product that you can add vegetable oils to, such as creams, gels, vegetable oil blends and serums, whether you’re making them from scratch or you simply want to add the blend to ready-made products, it couldn’t be easier! Note: if you add this blend to gels (while making from scratch or adding to ready-made gels) it will result in a milky gel as the more fats/oils you add to an emulsion, the whiter it becomes.

Rosewood (Organic)

A wonderful oil for skin care as it stimulates new cell growth so include in the anti wrinkle facial serums as well as creams, lotions and gels. It balances dull, dry and oily skin so is suitable for all skin types and especially mature skin. As there is also Geranium in the blend, this combination helps to balance menopausal skin conditions.

Rose Geranium (Organic)

It balances the production of sebum in the skin, while keeping it supple and helping with the healing of wounds. Superb to clear congested skin, dermatitis and eczema. Works particularly well on oily and mature skin. Caution: Using too large amounts can cause localised dermatitis. As it can balance the hormonal system, possibly best to avoid during pregnancy.

Rosemary Verbenone (Organic)

This is the most gentle of the rosemary oils and is the most suited to beauty skin care. It is very regenerating for aged skin especially if from solar damage or the elements.

Rose Otto (non-Organic)

As rose tones the liver, it is automatically a good skin care oil for all skin types but especially helping with dry skin, mature skin, wrinkles and broken capillaries. Works well with Lavender.

Lavender Fine Population, French (Organic)

In this blend it works very well with the rose for mature skin care.

Spikenard (Organic)

Ability to stimulate the production of new skin cells makes it popular in facial care for mature skin.

Patchouli (Organic)

It reduces wrinkles and open pores by toning and tightening the skin. It is also reputed to be an aphrodisiac.

Frankincense (Organic)

A very good choice for dry and mature skin to help keep wrinkles at bay in face and body products.

Dosage and How to use in products

Dosage: This is a concentrated blend. Use 1-2% of the blend in your products. Add to products in the same way as you would other fragrances and essential oils. Keeps for 2 years.

*Note: All essential oils and absolutes in these skin type blends, are organic  except the rose otto, which is non-organic. There is only 1% of rose otto in this blend so therefore this blend still qualifies for use in organic products as it still contains  well above the 95% organic ingredients required for a product to be called organic or used in organic products.
