Cold pressed. Organic seeds from Germany. The oil has also been called Gold of Pleasure or Wild Flax. Due to its high content of Omega 3 up to 42%, it is a good replacement for fish oils. It contains up to 17% gadoleic acid which is found in cod liver oil in significant quantities. To get the Omega 3 you can use it as a salad dressing or use it in Anti-Wrinkle Face Oils, Serums, Body Oils, part of a Massage Oil, Creams, Lotions, etc. Due to the high Omega 3 content, the Oil was put under a nitrogen cap straight after production and Aromantic has put in an additional 0.5% Vitamin E Oil as an antioxidant to keep it for 2 years.

For Skin Care

For Skin Care

It is a very dry, thin oil that is easily absorbed by the skin and is hydrating and moisturising. Because it feels quite rough on the skin it is important to use it very sparsely on sensitive skin, and then always blend it with softer oils such as rosehip or apricot kernel. Because of its omega 3 content, camelina has similar properties to rosehip oil. However, rosehip oil should be used for sensitive skin and camelina oil can be used for all other skin types other than sensitive skin.

In an anti-wrinkle oil blend, vitamin E oil is an excellent smooth and soft oil to blend camelina oil with as it also has the antioxidant properties needed for skin rejuvenation.

Improves the skin’s elasticity; gives the skin a glossy luminescence; spreads well on the skin; and can be used with other oils for treating acne, eczema and psoriasis. Use where a larger amount of omega 3 is important.
Very good to use in products for oily skin, largely because it is so dry. Use for treating large-pored skin as its high content of fatty acids will help to reduce pore size.

In the kitchen

Because it is very high in omega 3 fatty acids (up to 42%), you can take it internally instead of marine oils or flaxseed oil in salad dressings or as a food supplement (1-2 teaspoons a day). Camelina can be taken internally instead of marine oils although it is not equivalent to marine oils and camelina oil does not contain EPA (eicosopentaenoic acid) or DHA (docosahexaeonoic acid), which are both found in cold water fish oils. Be aware that organic camelina has a distinctive, rich green aroma and a very strong, dominant taste so you may want to mix it with more neutral tasting oils.
