Historical Information
Brazil Nut Oil has given the indigenous people of Brazil a secure income that does not depend of the destruction of the rainforests ecosystem as there is no logging involved.
The Brazil Nut trees are valued and protected as each tree can yield about 50 litres of oil per year without damage. Organic certification is a hard standard to achieve and wild harvested is more common to find.
