A totally natural and vegan blended wax based on ethically and non GMO sourced soya.
100% Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (hydrogenated from a freezing point of -8ºC to a melting point of approximately 66-72ºC).
During this hydrogenation process the unsaturated fatty acids in the soya oil becomes saturated and therefore solid. Soya wax can also be used in heavy night creams or protective hand creams.
Soya Wax is most often used to make candles because it is a great alternative to paraffin wax and it burns slower with a much cleaner flame and no smoke.
It has excellent fragrance holding qualities and throws the fragrance very well when burning.
For use in natural cosmetics, soya wax gives a very good consistency to lip balms and lipsticks.
Use at 1% - 100%. It is oil and fat soluble and insoluble in water. As it is heat stable, it can be melted in the stage 1 (fat stage) when making creams and lotion.
How to adjust existing beeswax recipes:
To make vegan lip balms in lip balm cylinders, you can replace the beeswax with soya wax.
As soya wax has a higher melting point than beeswax, you need approximately 15% less soya wax in your recipe so, if you are using 20% of beeswax in your recipe, you only need to use 17% of soya wax, replacing the 3% difference with 3% of vegetable oil.

- Hello, Is this 100% soy wax? would that be ok to use it for massage candles( is it dermatologically tested)? And would you be able to advise a ration with other oils for the massage candle please. Many thanks, Gitte
- Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, absolutely the soy wax can be used in massage candles. The wax has also been dermatologically tested and is safe for the skin. We don't have specific information on how much to use but a common ratio is 3 parts soy wax to 1 part oil. Too much oil or other ingredients added may affect the ability of the candle to burn effectively. I would suggest starting with a small batch to test it. Also, some people are sensitive to certain ingredients so remember to perform a patch test before using.

- The country of origin is USA. We are unable to supply you with the name of the company that we buy our ingredients from. We use our Soya Wax in cosmetic formulations rather than scented candles and don't work with fragrance oils however there are lots of forums and information on natural candle making where you should be able to find the information you need.
