Product Description
Product Description
Organic Rosehip Seed Oil is a clear, pale-gold to deep colour liquid extracted from the seeds of wild, pesticide-free rose bushes. Our rosehip seed oil is certified organic, meets strict standards set by reputable organisations and is sourced from select countries known for quality, including Chile and Bulgaria, for authenticity and traceability.
The faint aroma has been gently reduced by a Soil-Association-approved steam-vacuum process, making the oil a discreet hero in fragrant blends. The oil’s deep colour is a sign of its potency and high nutrient content, packed with essential fatty acids and antioxidants.
We add 0.35% natural vitamin E dispersed in 0.15% sunflower oil to every batch. Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, not only nourishes and protects the skin but also protects the seed oil from oxidation, extending its shelf life and effectiveness.
This antioxidant shield extends freshness and protects the valuable omega-3, 6 and pro-vitamin A compounds from premature oxidation. The oil is also rich in vitamins A, C and E, which support skin regeneration, hydration and protection from environmental damage.
Without this safeguard, pure rosehip oil can go rancid within months; with it, you get stability and performance in every formulation. The natural origins of this oil, from the heart of nature, ensure purity and efficacy.
Each golden drop is bursting with linoleic, linolenic and oleic acids that replicate the skin’s lipid balance. Extracted from rosehip seeds, this seed oil is famous for its nourishing and hydrating properties, great for sensitive or dry skin.
The oil glides on silky, then absorbs in seconds, replacing dryness with comfort. As a high-quality carrier oil, it’s perfect for blending with essential oils or for use in custom skincare and haircare formulations. You can mix it with other oils to create your treatments.
Because the profile is high in alpha-linolenic acid, the finish feels almost “dry” to the touch, making it a great partner for richer butter and waxes. Formulators love how the oil reduces greasiness in shea-based body butter, adds cushion to silicone-free serums and improves pigment dispersion in botanical balms.
Hair-care artists also rave about its soothing power: a tiny amount tames fly-aways and gives lightweight shine without weighing fine strands down. Our rosehip seed oil has been proven by scientific studies and customer feedback.
Sensory Profile & Skin Feel
- The texture is fluid, never sticky.
- On application, it glides on effortlessly, giving plenty of playtime for massage.
- As a face oil, it feels light and smooth, absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
- Within 2-3 minutes, it settles into a satin veil—perfect under makeup or sunscreen.
- Even oil-averse skin types love the balanced after-feel: no greasy film, no clogged pores.
- The soft, neutral scent stays close to the skin and won’t compete with essential oil accords.
How to use it
How to use it
- Use 1% to 100%. Although safe to use neat on the skin, the high level of Omega 3 can make the oil feel tight on the skin. We feel the oil is much more elegant when blended with other oils.
- Oil soluble so cannot be used in water only products. It can be used in small amounts in water based gels that will hold it in suspension.
- Not heat stable so should be used in Stage 3 (cool stage) when making creams and lotions.
Skin Care
-
Rosehip Seed Oil has a light and non-greasy texture that feels quite dry. It sinks into the skin quickly without leaving any greasy afterfeel. It’s great for dry and damaged skin and improves skin appearance. Even out skin tone.
-
Great for acne-prone skin, it’s so light.
-
Rosehip Seed Oil contains natural Vitamin A, a powerful antioxidant. With high Omega 3, this oil is great for smoothing the skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles, especially on mature skin.
-
Short surface time on the skin, perfect for use under makeup.
-
Rosehip Seed Oil evens out skin tone for an even glow.
-
Excellent balanced ratio of Omega-3, Omega-6, Omega-9. Great for oil blends for all skin types and easy to use in gel formulations where less oil can be used; therefore, a well-balanced oil is best.
-
In anti-ageing skincare products, Rosehip Seed Oil keeps the skin soft, supple and radiant, which can help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
- For sensitive skin, blend it with Peach Kernel Oil or Apricot Kernel Oil.
- Rosehip Seed Oil blends very well with other oils that have a much fattier or greasy feel to them like Shea Butter. The dryness of the Rosehip Seed Oil makes the combination feel very elegant.
Hair Care
-
Rosehip Seed Oil tones and corrects an oily scalp. It will also improve a sensitive scalp. Hair shaft will be moisturised without feeling greasy or heavy.

Why buy from Aromantic
Why Buy from Aromantic?
When choosing Organic Rosehip oil, it's important to select reputable brands known for their commitment to quality, sustainability, and transparency. Look for oils with added Vitamin E, as this helps prevent the oil from becoming rancid. Without it, the oil may oxidise quickly, or may already be oxidised before purchase.
At Aromantic, we add natural Vitamin E to our Rosehip oil immediately after opening the container. The bulk containers arrive nitrogen-capped to prevent oxidation during storage and transport. Once opened, we introduce Vitamin E to maintain the oil's freshness and extend its shelf life by protecting it from exposure to air.

FAQ's
FAQs
Is Rosehip Seed Oil comedogenic?
Low to moderate. Always patch-test.
Can I use it during the day?
Yes. Dry touch, so suitable under SPF or makeup.
Does it replace synthetic retinol?
Offers natural pro-vitamin A but is gentler than concentrated retinol derivatives.
Why is there vitamin E added?
Antioxidants are added to extend shelf life and support product stability. Helps protect the skin from environmental damage by neutralising free radicals.
Is the oil safe for baby skin?
In low concentrations, yes. Patch test to ensure compatibility with delicate skin.
Will the deodorisation affect efficacy?
No. The gentle steam-vacuum method preserves fatty acids while reducing scent.
Can I heat this oil?
No. Add only in the cool phase of emulsions below 40°C.
Why is the oil cloudy in the fridge?
Natural waxes may crystallise when chilled; clarity returns at room temperature.
What are the claims about rosehip seed oil?
Claims include improving skin tone, reducing the appearance of scars and supporting hydration. These claims are based on traditional use, consumer feedback and some scientific studies; not all benefits are proven.
