What is it?

It is a more powerful antiseptic than True Lavender. More of a stimulant than sedative so check the other lavender profiles to see that you are using the correct one for what you want.

Spike lavender is higher in cineol and esters which make it more antifungal and antiseptic and therefore good for chest complaints and for keeping communal areas free of coughs and infections.

Skin Care

Very antifungal and antiseptic so include in foot creams as well and gardeners hand creams. Quite a good analgesic so include in creams and gels for rheumatism.

Hair Care

Good to keep insects away in holiday shampoos.

Suggested Blends

With calendula infused oil as an anti inflammatory. With St. John’s Wort infused oil and fragonia as an analgesic for rheumatism.

Cautions

A little too harsh for very young or weak and elderly people.
