Oriental Facial Scrub

Ingredients

 

Method

Stage 1:
10 % Rice Starch
78% Cold Spring Water

Stage 2:
5% Rice Bran Oil
5% Bamboo Exfoliant
1% Preservative Eco
1% Petitgrain Essential Oil
100% Total
       Stage 1
Weigh all stage 1 materials into a stainless steel bowl and place into a saucepan of boiling water (double boiler/bain marie). Bring up to a temperature of over 70°C whilst stirring.

Stage 2
Put the stage 2 materials into a separate stainless steel bowl. When the Rice Starch has hydrated and formed a thick gel remove the bowl from the double boiler and put into a pan of cold water to cool it down quickly. Keep stirring all the time. When the gel is under 40°C add the stage 2 ingredients. Combine thoroughly, jar and label.

Rinse Off Scrub Cleanser

Stage 1: (above 75°C)
9% Camellia Seed Oil
5% Castor Oil
6% Crambe Seed Oil
3% VE Emulsifier
2% Cetearyl Alcohol

Stage 2: (above 75°C)
5% MF Emulsifier
3% Papaya Glycerol Extract
50% Boiling Spring Water

Stage 3: (below 40°C)
6% EcoSilk
1% Preservative Eco
0.5% Vitamin E
0.5% May Chang Essential Oil
4% Emulsifan

Total 100%


Method:
Measure the Stage 1 (fat stage) ingredients into a small bowl in a double boiler. Heat until they are over 75°C.

Measure all the Stage 2 (water stage) ingredients into a larger bowl, whisk briefly and put the larger bowl onto the double boiler. Pour the hot Stage 1 ingredients into the Stage 2 bowl. Check that the temperature is still above 75°C.

Stir the contents for 5 minutes whilst keeping the temperature above 75°C.

Remove the bowl from the double boiler and put into a pan of cold water to cool it down quickly. Keep stirring all the time.

When the temperature is below 40°C, mix the Stage 3 ingredients together and add to the cream. Mix thoroughly and then stir in the Jojoba Peeling Grains. Jar and label.
