Lady's Mantle is a perennial herb found in Europe, North America, and Asia. Used for its healing effects in Skin Care products as it is said to soothe dry and sensitive skin. Good for chapped and broken skin on the hands and feet.
It has an astringent effect on the skin and protects newly formed elastin fibres, elastin is required for skin elasticity, and is a protein in the skin, which together with collagen and glycosaminoglycans, makes up the connective tissue. Its astringent properties also make it effective for treating skin with large pores. Can be used on sores (including those on the scalp), and inflamed skin.
