Inci:Melissa Officinalis Leaf Oil

A sweet, slightly herbaceous and vegetal, lemon aroma. Often called Lemon Balm.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A clear to pale yellow, volatile oil obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and tops of the Melissa plant.

According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Database (CosIng), the functions of Melissa Essential Oil are: Masking, Perfuming, Tonic.

HOW TO USE IT

Skin Care

Can be used in products for acne prone skin and an effective choice in foot creams.

Hair Care

As it is a gentle astringent, it is suitable for an oily scalp.

Other

As a mood enhancer, it can help to lift the spirits when used in an oil burner or diffuser.

Use in a bath oil blend.

Suggested Blends

Blend with Fragonia when wanting to deeply relax and reconnect with “yourself”.

Combine with Sandalwood when wanting to address long term exhaustion.

It does not give an energy boost but starts to help the body adjust.

CAUTIONS/CONTRAINDICATIONS

Avoid using on sensitive skin or during pregnancy as some people can have dermal irritation.

Do not use with low blood pressure or with Fennel.

Smells incredible

Melissa is a v v expensive oil everywhere, but I’d rather be paying for a true quality one and this I think is top quality lemon balm.
