Hello again dear Aromantic Team,
I have a technical question, please: in this formulation Emulsifan is used because of the Preservative12?
I know that this preservative is only partially soluble in water but is there any other ingredient “asking” for Emulsifan?
May I leave it out-the Emulsifan and then use Preservative Eco? Or did I mis some important detail while reading the role and composition of the ingredients used here?
Thank you for taking the time to answer to my questions.
Kind regards,
Ileana Bizinic

Thank you for your enquiry.
Please see the below response from our Research and Development Team;
“Yes, you are correct that the Emulsifan is only there to solubilise the Preservative 12.
You could use Preservative Eco instead and leave out the Emulsifan, making up the 2% difference with the Rose Geranium Hydrolat. However, although the manufacturer says that Preservative Eco is fully water-soluble, we have found that in toners, it is not always totally soluble, so you would need to test a small sample for yourself. It also comes with its own aroma, which you would need to see if it works with the blend of waters in the recipe. I think they will be strong enough to mask the Preservative Eco, but only a small test will tell."
