73% Boiling Spring Water

1% Preservative 12
1% Essential Oils of your choice

Method:
  • Heat the Stage 1 (fat stage) materials in a stainless steel bowl on a bain marie (double boiler) to above 75°C.
  • Add the Stage 1 (fat stage) to the Stage 2 (water stage) and stir thoroughly to combine the ingredients (this important), then stick blend for about 20 seconds until emulsified. Stop stick blending and remove from the heat.
  • Allow to cool naturally whilst stirring with a spoon or spatula continuously. Do not accelerate the cooling time in a cold water bath and do not use the stick blender.
  • When the cream is below 40°C, combine the Stage 3 (heat sensitive) ingredients and then add to the cream. Stir thoroughly then jar and label.

Please see the below response from our Research and Development Team,

“We haven’t actually tried that, so cannot say with certainty, but I really this with even 5% Skin Lightener would be stable. Vegetal is very tolerant to having extras in Stage 3. Just take the same percentage used out of the water stage. Vegetal is also a good choice for such an ingredient as the lamellar structure allows a gradual penetration of the active over many hours, which will make it more effective.”

Good evening,

I was wondering if any actives can be added in addition to stage three ingredients.
Can this formula take another 3% of actives in stage three?
I want to add Skin lightener.
Would the formula be stable with this addition, please?
