Not all types of emulsifying wax are vegan. Some emulsifying waxes are made from animal fats. It can be hard to tell whether an emulsifier is made from animal fat, as regulations only require that manufacturers list the chemical names. This allows manufacturers to avoid declaring whether products are vegetable or animal in origin.
At Aromantic, we believe that emulsifiers should be sourced from natural ingredients such as vegetable oils and other vegetable based raw materials.
We searched long and hard to find a transparent supplier that sells ethically sourced products that are top quality. Our Emulsifying Wax (BTMS 25) is derived from rapeseed oil and, as a result, contains no animal materials at all.
This particular emulsifying wax stays stable and is incredibly adaptable to different products and textures, depending on the amount of emulsifier used. For example, BTMS wax can hold different types of oil as well as cocoa butter, to form light lotions and rich body butters, depending on your skincare need. What’s more, since the emulsifier is cationic, it makes for a luxurious hair conditioner that coats dry, damaged hair, leaving it feeling soft and easier to detangle.
