Description

What is it?

Certified as natural and organic by EcoCert. Epi-dermis & sebum balancer is based on a natural and organic plant extract from the rare alpine plant Epilobium fleischeri, which is rich in flavonoids and has strong anti-inflammatory properties. It is also very high in the tannin oenethin B, which is very useful in regulating sebum production in human skin, making it very helpful for treating oily and sensitive skin.

From a cosmetic point of view, the hyperactivity of the skin’s 5α-reductase leads to an overproduction of sebum, which can be regulated by the application of epi-dermis & sebum balancer. The producer combines its long experience in natural product extraction with its philosophy to develop active ingredients based on the research of rare Alpine plants organically cultivated in the Swiss mountains. Alpine plants are believed to contain especially high concentrations of metabolites to protect them against the environmental stress of high altitudes. These plants are ideally suited feedstocks for the production of ingredients to treat and protect our skin.

The plants are cultivated at altitudes between 1000 and 1500 metres following the requirements of Bio-Suisse, whose reputation and label stands for:

• natural diversity
• no use of chemical and synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
• no use of genetic engineering and unnecessary additives
• independent inspection of organic farming and processing by Bio-Inspecta.

Water or oil-soluble?

Water-soluble.

Can I add it to oil serums or ready-made products?

You should not add it to oil serums or oil blends as it will separate but you can add it already-made face wash, shower gels, face and body gels, gel serums, etc. Simply stir in the correct dose thoroughly.

Recommended dosage and how to use in products

Dosage: 1-3% in the water phase of a formulation or when the temperature is under 40°C.

Storage and Shelf life

3 years from date of production (see label for best before date). Store cool and dark away from direct sunlight.

Extra Information

It is preserved with 0.1-0.2% potassium sorbate.

Related/Synergistic Products

To reduce sebum production and oily appearance of skin

Use epi-dermis & sebum balancer together with nettle and ginseng herbal tinctures; essential oils of geranium, lavender and ylang ylang; hydrolates (for toner sprays) such as orange blossom and rosemary; and also use high-GLA vegetable oils such as evening primrose and borage.

In Acne Treatment Products

Combine epi-dermis & sebum balancer with anti-acne active formula.

For reducing large skin pores

Combine epi-dermis & sebum balancer with horsetail and yarrow herbs; cedarwood essential oil; and all types of witch hazel products; vegetable oils high in omega 6 and 3; in a gel use siberian ginseng extract as well.

For combination skin products

Use epi-dermis & sebum balancer together with ginseng and nettle tinctures in e.g. gels applied to the T-zone.

Use 1-2 times a day.

3ml/g Epi-dermis & Sebum Balancer
4ml/g Siberian Ginseng Extract
2ml/g Vitamin E Oil (Aromantic’s 100% undiluted)
2.5ml/g Witch Hazel Glycerol Extract (Organic)
1ml/g Vitamin A Palmitate
0.5ml (10-12 drops) Essential Oil

Epi-Gel Serum (acne-prone skin)

Use 1-2 times a day.

Method for Oil Blend and Serums

1. Measure all of the ingredients and mix well together.
2. Fill them in a pump bottle or in jars.
