Aromantic UK courses in teaching professionals and non-professionals how to use and blend essential oils and absolutes. Different lavenders, spearmint, niaouli, vetivert, patchouli, different rosemarys, geranium, ginger, lime, elemi, spikenard, ylang ylang, benzoin and blood orange. Teacher Mike Harmon.

Using Essential Oils and Absolutes Module 4 Course

One day course with Clinical Aromatherapist Mike Harmon

Overview

Module 4 is mainly a theory day but after a blend is explained and the appropriate oils have been studied, you will gain practical experience by blending different essential oils into a vegetable oil base to make a specific fragrance.

7 different essential oil blends in mini glass roller bottles will be made and these will be yours to take home as a point of reference. Guidelines will be given about the essential oil blends for example, whether that blend would be useful for leg lotions, body gels, shampoos or face creams.

14 essential oils and absolutes are explored in Module 4: May Chang; Melissa; Peppermint; Pine; Rosewood; Sage; Thyme; Manuka; Rose; Zdravetz; Vanilla; Bergamot; Cedarwood; and Hyssop. The intention is to give you confidence to safely add essential oils to your products making them even more effective therapeutically (if appropriate) as well as smelling fabulous!

Who this course will benefit:

  • Many of the students on Aromantic ‘s courses have said that they wanted to know more about the essential oils they use in the classes but don’t want to become aromatherapists. This weekend will give you an amazing insight into the practical applications of the individual essential oils as well as good blends to put together. The intention is to have function as well as fragrance. Please understand though, that this training will NOT allow you to practice as an aromatherapist. The days are valuable CPD points but are NOT a qualification
  • This course is suitable for aromatherapists and non-aromatherapists alike.

About Mike Harmon

Many of you will already know my friend and colleague Mike Harmon as he has been teaching our courses now for about three years. He also teaches the Aromantic courses at colleges around the country.

His training started with Elementary Aromatherapy that led on to Clinical Aromatherapy which was a total of 8 years training. Add 2 years Reflexology and another 2 years of Iridology, Mike then started work at the Middlesex Hospital. He added several other modalities to become a Naturopath and as is so often the way, you find yourself back with your first love – aromatherapy.

Mike has always seen Aromantic’s creams and gels as the new era of aromatherapy. For too long, the art was perceived by many as applicable to massage only. Mike has “old school” training that not only takes on board the chemical make up of the oils but also the esoteric aspects.

Module 4 Course Contents:

You will be given handouts for 14 essential oils/absolutes. Much will already be on the handouts but you will want to add your own notes as the oils are discussed. The oils will include old favourites like peppermint and thyme but as well as the more unusual ones such as Zdravetz, with greater insight than many textbooks give. You will take home 7 different essential oil blends (in vegetable oil) in mini glass roller bottles. Guidelines will be given about the essential oil blends for example, whether that blend would be useful for leg lotions, body gels, shampoos or face creams. You will understand blending from a classical fragrance point of view but also how to combine the chakra energies of the oils, how to work with the yin and yang aspects as well as the Chinese emotional aspects of the oils. This will give you a much more holistic view of your product making.

Extra information about this Course - which Module/s should/can I attend?

  • The Using Essential Oils and Absolutes Course has been divided into 4 modules. Using Essential Oils and Absolutes Days 1 and 2 have now been renamed Using Essential Oils and Absolutes Module 1 and Module 2 and Modules 2 and 3 have been added by popular demand.
  • Each Module is stand alone and can be taken independently. However, we suggest that 1&2 be taken together as well as 3&4 together but you can take 3&4 together without having attended 1&2.
  • What is common to all of these modules is that you are given tools and suggestions to create your own unique natural fragrances (with appropriate therapeutic properties) for your natural products.
