Apium graveolens

Apium graveolens is a member of the umbelliferae family and the oil is the result of steam distillation of crushed organic seeds from Egypt. It is a excellent diuretic so works well on the lymphatic system. It has been found that Celery Seed helps to clear toxins from the blood and is a hepatic, clearing liver congestion and assisting with jaundice. As such, it also helps the skin. It will not clear skin problems as such but it does give the skin a smooth texture, clarity and glow. As a diuretic, it helps with cellulite and will clear the urinary system this helping with cystitis. The potassium chloride in the oil works very well with arthritis as well as with gout as it is known to decrease the uric acid in the body. This makes it very good for rebalancing the pH in the body to a more neutral level and this is important in combating psoriasis, eczema and rheumatism. Celery Essential Oil is also excellent in a facial steam bath for detoxing sluggish or congested skin.
