INCI Name

Refined. Sweet almond oil is obtained from the seed of the almond tree, which grows up to 6-8 metres high and carries large quantities of beautiful white or red blossoms. The fruit contains a ‘stone’ with a hard shell around the seed. Sweet almond oil is a clear, light yellow oil with a pleasant taste and odour. Shelf life 2-2.5 years.

Skin Care

A classic, mild, semi-fatty oil for skin care, which has been used since antiquity. It spreads nicely and makes the skin soft, smooth and supple. It can be used for most skin types. Can be used in massage oils, face and body oils, skin creams, lotions, ointments, balms, etc. It has a long ‘surface time’ which means that it is slowly absorbed by the skin and is therefore an excellent lubricant for whole body massage oil. Use in products for itchy skin. Also excellent for baby products. It softens the skin and wound crusts.

Cooking

Has a subtle toasted almond aroma and flavour. Suitable for salad dressings and sauces. It has a high smoke point (255°C/49°F) and is used in sautιeing and stir frying food.

In Baby Oils

Blend sweet almond oil with apricot kernel, shea butter (melted), rosehip and rice bran oils. You can also add soothing comfrey and chamomile products.

5ml Thistle Oil
15g Coconut Butter (melt before adding to blend)
0.5ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
10-12 drops Essential Oils
