What is it? 90% Sunflower Oil (Organic) plus Essential Oils/Absolutes of: Lemon (Organic); Rose Geranium (Organic); Ylang Ylang Complete (Organic); Lavender Fine Population, French (Organic); Frankincense (Organic); Lemon Myrtle (Organic); Vetivert (Organic). Our Oily Skin Blend is part of a range of four blends for different skin types formulated by our very own Mike Harmon who, as many of you will know, is a clinical aromatherapist who is also very skilled at formulating and making natural skin and hair care products in the Aromantic style.
Benefits It is ideal for enhancing tailor-made/prescription products that you make up for your therapy clients or for a skin care range catering for different skin types. You can add it to any product that you can add vegetable oils to, such as creams, gels, vegetable oil blends and serums, whether youre making them from scratch or you simply want to add the blend to ready-made products, it couldnt be easier!
Note : if you add this blend to gels (while making from scratch or adding to ready-made gels) it will result in a milky gel as the more fats/oils you add to an emulsion, the whiter it becomes.
Lemon (Organic) Its astringent qualities make it excellent for balancing oily, acne-prone or problem skin.
Rose Geranium (Organic) It balances the production of sebum in the skin, while keeping it supple and helping with the healing of wounds. Superb to clear congested skin, dermatitis and eczema. Works particularly well on oily and mature skin.
Ylang Ylang Complete (Organic) Irritated and oily skin will benefit from including it in creams, lotions and gels. It balances over oily skin by regulating the sebum production.
Lavender Fine Population, French (Organic) One of the best things it does is to act as a synergist. Whatever the attributes of the other essential oils in a blend, lavender seems to make those oils work even harder by being included. Calming and soothing.
Frankincense (Organic) Its antiseptic qualities help to clear up oily and problem skin.
Lemon Myrtle (Organic) Antiseptic, antiviral qualities makes it a superb choice to use for oily skin and acne skin conditions.
Vetivert (Organic) As a circulatory stimulant, it helps with acne. It balances sebum production so is useful for treating oily skin.
Dosage and How to use in products Dosage: This is a concentrated blend. Use 1-2% of the blend in your products. Add to products in the same way as you would other fragrances and essential oils. Keeps 1.5 years.Cautions Because it contains Rose Geranium be aware that using too large amounts can cause localised dermatitis [if you stick to recommended dosage this should not be an issue]. However, as Rose Geranium can balance the hormonal system, possibly best to avoid during pregnancy.
