What is it?

AHA Natural Fruit Extract is natural peeling agent that has 12-17% Glycolic Acid. AHA Natural Fruit Extract is a concentrated blend of five botanical extracts: bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange, and lemon, making it a natural source of several AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids).  As the name implies, these are very acidic substances with a pH of 3-4. It is a clear liquid.

Action/Benefits

• Alpha Hydroxyl Acids have been shown to promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal and have excellent moisturising properties.
• AHAs work by decreasing the compounds that hold dead skin on the surface. By breaking down these compounds, the dead cells slough off, leaving behind a layer of smoother, softer skin.
• Products containing AHA fruit acids are used in the care of different skin problems such as: acne, oily skin and large pores.
• Can be effective against wrinkles.
• AHAs are used in products such as peeling products to help exfoliate and renew cells and even skin tone.
• Excellent efficacy with minimum irritation.

Water or oil-soluble?

Water-soluble.

Can I add it to oil serums or ready-made products?

You should not add it to oil serums or oil blends as it will separate but you can add it to ready made creams, lotions, gels, toners and spritzers by simply measuring the correct dosage and mixing it in thoroughly.

Recommended dosage and how to use in products

Dosage in products: 5-15%.  Always start with a smaller amount in order to test effect on your skin. Add to your recipes at the third stage, or under 40°C, or to already made products.

Storage and Shelf Life

2-3 years (See label). Store at room temperature.

Tips/Extra Information

1. AHA Natural Fruit Extract is most active at a pH of 4. The product itself reduces the pH of your product.
2. NB Never use around the eyes and do a skin sensitivity test on a patch of skin if you are a first-time user of this or any AHA product.
