Description

Cold pressed. Organic. A half-fat oil which is very smelly, so use in small quantities in Skin Care products. A traditional Ayurvedic Oil used for regeneration of dry and sensitive skin. Also used for dry hair. Neem oil contains steroids (campesterol, betasitosterol, and stigmasterol) and a variety of triterpenoids, of which azadirachtin is the best known and studied. It has a high azadirachtin content that varies from 300 parts per million to 2000 parts per million, depending on the quality of the seeds crushed. It is this active ingredient, azadirachtin, which works as an insecticide, fungicide and antibacterial agent. Keeps for 1.5-2.5 years.

Skin Care

It is a good choice for treating wounds. It has traditionally been used as an insect repellent. It is useful in antifungal as well as healing nail oil blends. It helps to stop the nails from splitting.  Very effective in antiseptic foot care products. Generally, the strong odour and colour makes it difficult to use in skin care products but it is a very useful oil with powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. You can use it in small areas of the body or in small quantities in blends.

Hair Care

Use neem oil in hair packs to get rid of lice, or to treat dandruff, etc. Jojoba oil is an excellent oil to mix with neem oil when making hair oils.

Antifungal/Antibacterial Nail Oil

Apply at least once a day to your nails.

10ml Neem Oil
40ml Sesame Oil
35ml Thistle Oil
10ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
1ml Sea Buckthorn CO2 Extract
1ml Carrot CO2 Extract
1ml/g Vitamin A Palmitate
2ml (50 drops) Essential Oils: fragonia (20 drops), tea tree (20 drops), lavender (5 drops), myrrh (5 drops)
7 drops Rosemary CO2 Extract

10ml Neem Oil
47ml Rice Bran Oil
40ml Thistle Oil
2ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
15-20 drops Essential Oils
