Skin Care

It is a classic oil for mature skin as it contains over 20% palmitoleic acid. Palmitoleic acid also occurs naturally in our skin as part of sebum, where its job is to maintain moisture levels. The level of palmitoleic acid is reduced with age, which results in drier skin. Macadamia nut oil is therefore a good ingredient to have in products for mature and dry skin and skin which has difficulty retaining its moisture.

Macadamia nut oil feels fatty, thick, soft and sticky on the skin and can take up to one hour to be absorbed. This is known as a long ‘surface time’, providing good lubrication which makes it macadamia nut oil excellent for whole body massage oils. Once absorbed, it leaves skin soft and smooth. It is a very fatty oil which is soft and nice to use.

In the kitchen

This is a fatty oil with a subtle, nutty flavour and a slight yellow colour. Due to high quantities of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids is very good cooking oil for sautéeing and stir frying. (Smoke point 200°C/392°F). Excellent as an oil in salad dressings and for use in baking as a substitute for butter as it gives a buttery flavour. Adds a lovely taste when used to make popcorn.

27ml Evening Primrose Oil
20ml Camelina Oil
10ml Avocado Oil
2ml Remodelling Intense
10ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
6 drops Rosemary Antioxidant (CO2 Extract)
10-12 drops Essential Oil
