Organic dried calendula (marigold) flowers cold macerated in organic high-oleic content sunflower oil. Also very useful to add to creams that treat varicose vein and acne and is a must in pre- and post-sun lotions to prevent damage caused by sun bathing. Marigold is cultivated for domestic and medicinal use. This oil is stunning deep yellow-orange colour, much like the flowers.

Our calendula oil is one of a small range of macerated oils that is especially produced for us by a grower in the Welsh Borders, where he has been growing herbs organically for 25 years. We are very happy with the good quality. After I (Kolbjorn) visited their farm personally, I came away very impressed with what they do. All the oils are macerated in certified organic high oleic content sunflower oil.

Skin Care

Our calendula oil is made from macerating organic calendula flowers in organic high oleic sunflower oil. Because the high oleic content gives this sunflower oil the same properties as sweet almond oil, this is a long oil, making it very good for long massage strokes used in whole body massage. It is therefore good for enhancing whole body massage oils and generally any products that need good lubrication properties. The base oil also is soft and smooth, promoting skin suppleness. High in calendulin, carotene, waxes, tannins, phosphorous and vitamins a and c, calendula oil is a good wound healer and works well with comfrey oil in preparations to treat scarred, damaged and irritated skin. Also very useful to add to creams that treat varicose vein and acne and is a must in pre- and post-sun lotions to prevent damage caused by sun bathing.

For First Aid Blends and to treat scarred, damaged & irritated skin
It is very appropriate to blend calendula oil with comfrey oil as they have synergistic effects. For these types of blends, I also recommend blending calendula oil with arnica and/or St. John’s wort oil. All these 3 oils are macerated oils. 

Blend with other Calendula Products
For enhanced benefit, blend calendula macerated oil with calendula CO2 extract, calendula tincture and calendula dried herb.

For Healing Oils
Blend calendula oil with rosehip oil plus at least 5% high-GLA oils such as evening primrose or borage. Also add vitamin E Oil for healing purposes.

40ml Calendula Oil
30ml Rosehip Oil
9ml St. John’s Wort Oil
20ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
1ml/g Vitamin A Palmitate
8 drops Rosemary Antioxidant
10-12 drops Essential Oils

Calendula Scar Tissue Oil

Use first 2-3 months of scar being formed.

40ml Calendula Oil
9ml Evening Primrose Oil
50ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted)
10 drops Rosemary Antioxidant
10-12 drops Essential Oils
