Aloe Vera Concentrate (Organic) - Aromantic Ltd

INCI Name

N
Aloe barbadensis, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate.

Description

What is it?

Our whole leaf aloe vera concentrate is an extract from the aloe barbadensis miller plant grown in Mexico. It is obtained by cleaning the leaves by mechanical means and then removing the spines and chopping the leaf into sections prior to being pulped. A patented process involving flash pasteurisation and stabilising ensures that the inherent properties of the finished product retains the ‘life’ of the original aloe plant leaf. During this process the toxin ‘aloin’ is removed to safe levels so that the product can also be used for drinking purposes.

Our whole leaf aloe vera concentrate is cold pressed and has organic approval from USA and grown in Mexico. It has also passed the inspection of the International Aloe Science Council.

Main constituents: 96% water, lignin, saponins, anthraquines, carbohydrate glucomannans (of particular importance is acemannan), tannins, steroids, enzymes, growth hormones, aloin, glucommannans, salicylic acid, and fatty acids. Aloe Vera also contains twenty amino acids (including all eight essential amino acids), at least nine minerals i.e. calcium, sodium, iron, potassium, zinc, chromium, magnesium, manganese and copper, and a number of vitamins, including B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, A, C, E, folic acid, and choline.

Pet Care

Cuts and scrapes

Freshly cut Aloe or Aloe Vera Gel is an excellent application for cuts and scrapes. It is a natural antiseptic, and will keep the area moist until the cut can heal.

Skin problems

Aloe Vera is an excellent preparation to use for skin conditions such as allergies, abscesses, fungal infections, pyoderma, and many types of dermatitis.

Wounds and Burns

These respond particularly well to Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera can aid the natural healing processes and help to keep the wound or burn moist and supplied with nutrients.

Internal use

The Aloe Vera Gel can be used for stomach problems and digestive upsets.

Water or oil-soluble?

Water-soluble.

Can I add it to oil serums or ready-made products?

You cannot add it to oil serums or oil blends as it will separate. You can also add the aloe vera concentrate (10% dosage) directly to your creams, lotions, gels, etc.

Recommended dosage and how to use in products

This is a 1:9 liquid concentrate. 100ml of the concentrate added to 900ml of water and other ingredients makes 1 litre of aloe vera gel juice, then mixed together with 1-1.5% of xanthan gum makes a gel.

The optimal dosage is 10% in creams, lotions, peelers and cleansers.

Note: The aloe vera concentrate has been taken from fresh aloe vera gel by having most of the water removed. You can reconstitute the concentrate to create a 100% aloe vera gel by replacing the 90% lost water. Additionally, by adding 10% of the aloe vera concentrate to a cream you get 100% benefit (as if you had put the original aloe vera gel in). Buying the aloe vera concentrate (as opposed to the aloe vera gel that still contains all of its water) saves on transport costs and cuts down on packaging, making the product more affordable and environmentally-friendly.

Storage and Shelf Life

2-3 years (See label). Store at cool temperature away from sunlight.

Tips/Extra Information

  1. For Gel Recipes buy our eBook ‘eB4 Making Gels_Rev 3rd Ed’.
  2. Our aloe vera concentrate is very safe and can even be taken internally up to 25 ml per day.
  3. One of our customers has asked if a gel made from xanthan gum and aloe vera can conduct electricity for use in massage pads. We are happy to say ‘yes’.
