What is it?

Allantoin is the most important and most active natural ingredient found in the root of the comfrey herb. It is a white-coloured powder.

Action/Benefits

• All cleansers, peelers, exfoliator and scrubs.
• All skin rejuvenation products as allantoin stimulates tissue growth.
• Products such as creams, gels, soaps, etc that treat eczema, psoriasis, sores, lesions and wounds.
• Sun and after-sun creams for the treatment of damaged skin.
• Moisturising creams, as it is moisture retaining.

Water or oil-soluble?

Water-soluble.

Can I add it to oil serums or ready-made products?

You should not add it to oil serums or oil blends as it will separate but you can add it already-made creams, lotions and gels. Simply mix the allantoin powder in a little liquid, such as water or hydrolate, etc. and add to already-made product.

Recommended dosage and how to use in products

• Dosage for all products: 0.5-2%.
• For creams, lotions, gels, etc dissolve the allantoin powder into a little water and add to the product at the third stage (under 40 degrees Celsius) or mix into already-made products as described above.
• For use in soaps, simply dissolve the allantoin powder in boiling water and add to your soap mix.

Storage and Shelf Life

2-3 years (See label). Store at room temperature in dry and airtight container away from direct sunlight.
